Notification and public disclosure...With interest rates going up, I am thinking of just leaving the money there instead of my original plan of moving it into SCHD. The current 7-Day SEC yield of VMFXX is 4.3% as opposed to the annual dividend yield for SCHD of 3.38%. Also to note, SCHD’s price dropped 6.24% last year.My gripe with SPAXX is that while it also holds US Treasuries, they hold other US obligations. A tad riskier. They do this do try and make up for their much higher expense ratio, 0.42% vs 0.11%. You can also see this in their 7day yield of 4.42% vs Vanguards 4.76%. You should invest what you’re comfortable with.So if I had VMFXX with $100.00 reported this is taxed as ordinary dividends, thus treated as ordinary income and I will pay 35% marginal federal tax bracket 5.1% state income tax 0.9% High-Income Earner so I need to pay Obamacare Tax 41.9% Total taxes So the after tax equivalent for VMFXX 2.35 - 41.9% = 1.365%-----.
